Yameena joined Independent Tax in November 2023 after nearly 5 years working for HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).

Whilst at HMRC, Yameena began by handling personal tax queries from the public and processing expenses claims, before taking on a floor walking role, hand picked by senior managers, to oversee the duties being carried out by her colleagues and to offer practical assistance.

Yameena moved from the HMRC Personal Tax Operations team in late 2020 to become a Customer Compliance Caseworker, where she began to conduct audits on companies across different business sectors, liaising with her fellow caseworkers to address any cross-tax issues.

A holder of a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, Yameena retains a keen interest in sport and keeping active after captaining her school netball team.
