Gemma Lowth

Gemma joined Independent Tax from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on 18 September 2023.

After serving as a VAT Fraud Investigator within HMRC for nearly 8 years, Gemma has acquired an in-depth knowledge of Kittel, Mecsek and Ablessio cases. She ran and managed investigations within HMRC’s specialist Fraud Investigation Service, prepared witness statements and successfully attended the Tax Tribunal, on behalf of HMRC, as a witness.

Gemma is now applying all that experience she gained within HMRC to her work here at Independent Tax and helping her clients to achieve great results.

Although she already has a BSc in Finance and Accounting, Gemma is keen to keep learning and expand her knowledge by undergoing further professional training in taxation.
