Jacob Bilbe

Jacob joined Independent Tax in August 2024 and is another member of the team at Independent Tax who has previously worked for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Jacob is a corporate tax specialist with experience of leading cross tax teams of HMRC investigators, in complex enquiries in the mid-sized business space. He was also involved in the creation and management of a tax avoidance team within HMRC, which targeted disguised remuneration and loan charge cases.

Time in private practice has broadened Jacob’s knowledge still further and this enables him to take a holistic approach to handling investigations, where he draws upon his background to help clients resolve their tax disputes in an efficient and cost saving manner.

Outside of work you will usually find Jacob trying to stay fit in the gym or buried in a history book or podcast.
