Nitheya joined Independent Tax in January 2023 as a Manager.
Nitheya is a former HMRC senior investigator and was part of the Fraud Investigations Team. Whilst in HMRC, Nitheya was involved in a wide range of investigations including those of direct and indirect taxes. She has ample knowledge of Formal Notices and enquires into suspected payroll fraud, tax avoidance schemes and construction industry schemes.
During her time in HMRC she has obtained many successes and achieved recognition from the senior leadership team. She has gained practical and technical knowledge through representing HMRC through formal procedures such as Mediation where she brought a successful outcome for HMRC and was able to negotiate terms for the taxpayers. She has experience in working with a range of taxpayers and assesses them based on their tax obligation as well as their personal circumstances and would be best suited to bring out the Clients’ overall objectives in tackling any HMRC enquiries.
Alongside her practical experience and knowledge, Nitheya comes from a Law background and holds a Master’s degree in Law, her desire to research and analyse material would prove invaluable when deciding on the best approach to advise clients on the varied tax affairs.
Nitheya’s wealth of experience in working for HMRC in specialist roles will enable her to work for the Client to achieve the best results given she is aware of HMRC’s approach in tackling complex issues.
To further her knowledge and expertise, Nitheya is planning to undergo further professional training in taxation which would prove additionally beneficial to her clients.
