Zoe joined Independent Tax in August 2024 following a 28-year career with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), where she conducted enquiries into cases involving tax evasion, specialist sector driven taskforces and the hidden economy.

During this time, she developed a deep knowledge of HMRC’s internal processes and legislative powers in relation to investigatory methods, assessments and penalties.

More recently, Zoe spent 4 1/2 years as a tax investigation and dispute specialist in the private sector, where she assisted clients in achieving successful outcomes to mitigate tax, interest and penalties in numerous disputes and disclosures, including the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

At Independent Tax Zoe will be involved in providing advice on a range of disputes and negotiations with HMRC, leveraging her expertise across Self-Assessment, Corporation Tax and Stamp Duty Land Tax matters.

In her free time, Zoe walks many miles with her boxer dog called Jenson and enjoys road trips lost in the countryside.  When at home, Sundays are usually kept free to watch Formula 1.
